What do I need to know?
Remember, curling is an ice sport – it hurts if you fall!
To prevent falling, it is recommended that you only wear a “slider” when you are delivering the rock, and have it off the rest of the time (for sweeping and skipping).
What do I need to bring?
CLEAN shoes – debris on the ice from dirty shoes may affect your rock, and creates a lot more work for our ice technician. Please do not wear shoes you have worn outside, and remember to use the shoe cleaner when you enter the ice arena.
Tip: If you have a choice between running/walking shoes with a soft black sole or hard light-coloured sole, pick the dark ones – since they are softer they will have more grip and you will feel more comfortable moving around on the ice.
The Stratford Country Club has brooms and sliders available for use. Please respect this equipment and leave it where you found it.
